Who or what inspires you to cook?

My mother mostly, she has always been my rock in life and I started cooking at a very young age making omelettes for her in the morning. It’s inspiring to think about being able to see the world through my career and learning new techniques from the best chefs from every region on earth. I would love to learn from Carla Hall and incorporate her teachings into my dishes.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

This is one question most chefs do not like to answer. It’s because we cook so many dishes and love to cook different things all the time. My favorite dish though would be Sarma (stuffed cabbage roll) and lots of veggies. My grandma used to make it for us as children and love bringing back that nostalgia and flavor :)

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to save and open my own restaurant and employ all my friends and family that have helped me through the years. It would be a Midwestern comfort food joint for family’s to sit for as long as they want and enjoy time being together. That’s what life’s about. Taking time slow and just being together making memories that we will always hold close and cherish.
