Who or what inspires you to cook?

My mom had her hands full raising four boys, but always had a fresh meal on the table, for which I’ve always been grateful. In high school, the first “real” dish I made was “island style flounder”, and I was hooked. In college, I would spend hours on the phone with my girlfriend (now wife) watching the original Iron Chef series. Alton Brown and Bobby Flay have been chefs I emulate. Bobby’s bold flavors and Alton’s science-mind inspire me!

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Red wine and pomegranate braised short ribs with pomegranate glaze and smoked Gouda grits.

What would you do with the $25,000?

In addition to putting funds away for our daughter, I would keep cooking! That would mean spending the most important commodity on my loved ones… TIME!
