Who or what inspires you to cook?

My grandparents, who were farmers and fishermen, taught me the value of hard work and the deep connection between food and love. Their dedication to the land and sea inspires my passion for cooking, reminding me that every meal tells a story of care, tradition, and sustainability. In a world that often feels uncertain, preparing a meal gives me a sense of accomplishment, providing something tangible to nourish my family and bring us closer together.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

My favorite dish to make is Oysters Rockefeller using locally sourced oysters and spinach. It was a favorite of my grandfather, and preparing it keeps me close to my roots on the Southern New Jersey Bayshore as well as close to my grandparents legacy.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000 I would make a gift to Rutgers NJ Agricultural Experiment Station or the like to establish a small aquaponics scholarship to help sustain the local food economy and honor my family legacy.
