Receive Text UpdatesCuriosity. I love exploring new techniques, new flavors, taking old dishes and reinterpreting them. Challenge. I've been blessed to have lived in two of the best food cities in the world, Chicago and Houston. Experiencing truly excellent cuisine, learning new techniques to replicate dishes at home is something I love. I also like the challenge of making delicious food for friends and family with food restrictions/allergies, it forces you to get really creative with your cooking!
What's your all time favorite dish to make?Too hard to choose one. How about my top 3? Chicken and sausage gumbo made with duck fat roux, with Louisiana popcorn rice. I dream about this dish way more often then is healthy. Biangbiang noodles with chili crisp, scallion and a fried egg. Biangbiang are Chinese hand pulled noodles that are ripped which gives them a beautiful texture. Bolognese with fresh pasta. I use beef, veal and pork and the sauce gets nice and happy with a half bottle of wine and is finished with cream. Luscious.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were to win, I'd would use it as seed funding to start my own business. Food has always been my one thing. I've been passionate about cooking since my early teens. I'd like to switch careers and focus full time on my passion.
