Who or what inspires you to cook?

My Mom and Dad inspired me to cook growing up. My aunt's in India too - they somehow feed the family multiple meals a day but also explore fun recipes doing it. Most recently my mother-in-law, who passed away from Parkinsons, inspired me in the kitchen as she tried a new NYT recipe every time we got together. Even days before hospice, she made a fudgy chocolate cake.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

My all time favorite dish to make is also one to eat - seitan lemongrass 'ham' in a bahn mi sandwich

What would you do with the $25,000?

Start a meal kit business. My husband went from microwaving Stouffer's Mac and cheese and frozen peas to making Italian, Mediterranean, Asian, even Tunisian meals thanks to Hellofresh. I would love to make an Indian Hellofresh to make authentic Indian cooking more approachable. I would aim to partner with local farmers and spice specialists from my mother country directly. Some of that money might allow me to travel to India to learn, research, and network for the business.
