Who or what inspires you to cook?

My grandmother used to pull up a chair when I was two years old and bring me into her kitchen and make meals from old family recipes to new ones for my grandfather. Both of my grandparents taught me the culture and knowledge behind all of these ethnic cultures when I was younger, and the love grew from there.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

It really depends day to day! I love a big comforting bowl of soup. One of the things I love is the chicken avlegomono soup. I love Indian food and I love making sushi and gimbap. I love trying to make new things!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would start my culinary dream to have a bodega on wheels where I make sandwiches from all different cultures and certain complete dishes in bowls at people’s convenience without skimping on quality or flavor. Another portion of that would go on an excursion somewhere to further my knowledge of cooking.
