Who or what inspires you to cook?

My mother, grandmother and family are my inspiration for the food I cook. In my thirties I was a foster mother, and cooking for kids from hard places took creativity and flexibility. Now I have a small bistro and pizzeria, and I get to feed my local community daily.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Do I have to pick one? I love to grill steak, make various salads that are loaded with flavor, and decadent pastas. My favorite style is very classic with a strong nod towards Italian food. I have a dish I call the Mama Mia, it's merlot infused sausage, marinara sauce with Ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, tossed with pasta, topped with fresh mozzarella and merlot, baked then topped with parmesan and basil.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Buy a new pizza oven for the pizzeria, we need a 2nd working oven.
