Who or what inspires you to cook?

My inspiration is my father. He passed away at 25 when I was just 4, but one of the things I remember about him was his dream of becoming a chef. Luckily, I got to live out that dream. Growing up, I found joy in the kitchen, and since 14, cooking has been my passion. NYC’s energy and diversity push me to keep evolving, but my father’s dream keeps me grounded in the love of cooking.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

My all-time favorite dish to make is classic linguine vongole, but with my own touch—confit garlic, fennel, capers, all in a white wine butter sauce. It’s the perfect balance of briny, buttery, and aromatic flavors. Every step, from gently coaxing the garlic into sweetness to perfectly timing the clams, makes it a dish that’s as rewarding to cook as it is to eat.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 grand prize, I’d launch a Korean-Mexican fusion food truck, blending bold flavors from both cuisines into something unique. Think kimchi quesadillas, bulgogi tacos, and gochujang-infused salsas—bringing the best of both worlds to the streets and sharing my passion for creative, flavor-packed food.
