Receive Text UpdatesMy inspiration is my mother—a brain aneurysm and lung cancer survivor who could out-cook Julia Child on her worst day. Her cast-iron skillet has seen more comebacks than a ’90s rock band. To be honest, cooking gives me a sense of service and relaxes my brain to such a therapeutic point, to when I'm in the kitchen or on the pit, I can lose plenty of time in the art of what I am preparing hoping for that great finished product and the reward of smiling faces.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?My all-time favorite dish to make is my smoked tater tot casserole. We use a smoke ground turkey, smoke it over pecan and cherry woods, we then mix it with cream cheese, cream of chicken and mushroom to make a stuffing, and then we layer a bed of smoked tater tots and cheese on bottom and top of that mixture and smoke it one final time to marry the final dish together. It is a true carb lovers dream.
What would you do with the $25,000?We have been working very hard building our business. Our next step is to go from our food truck to a physical building to further complete the look and finish the story we have been telling with bbq over the past 5 years. Its our dream to further the legend that is MISSISSIPPI BBQ to the world. And through smoke, great conversation and amazing recipes, we plan to show the world why we deserve to be in the conversation of legendary bbq pitmasters in the south, better yet, the WORLD!
