Receive Text UpdatesMy Mother. Watching her raise two kids on her own while still being able to provide home cooked meals every night that helped us succeed through sports, AP classes, adolescence. It wasn't glamorous. More often than not Gilmore Girls was on the TV while we crowded around the coffee table. I remember, as a small child, my first taste of homemade guacamole prepared for the fajitas. During hard times, she added various ingredients to ramen noodles to keep it exciting, i.e yellow mustard!
What's your all time favorite dish to make?I spent a month in Mexico City and learned out to make simple chicken soup with local ingredients. We had all been sick from Montezumas revenge and it was the first thing I was able to eat after a week or so. Chicken soup is for the soul, there is absolutely no doubt about that.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would start a sustainable oyster farm in the Gulf South. Oyster reefs can help serve as a barrier to storms, something we are all too familiar here in the Gulf South. It would host a summer camp for students in the area who are interested in Marine Biology and preservation of our ecosystems. Doesn't hurt that Oysters are damn delicious!
