Connect Who or what inspires you to cook?

Culture and family, especially my Mother. My mom was an amazing chef who absolutely loved the kitchen. She would cook at any time of the day and loved to share her meals with others. Growing up our house was the place anyone could come and get a delicious meal and this was well known so there was always someone at our door.while the food cooked, through mouth fulls of delicious food there was always laughter, stories, music and drinks. Those moments always felt extremely warm.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Rice and peas, Jerk chicken and plantain with a side of sweet slaw. Washing it all down with some homemade fruit juice. That meal feels like a cozy Sunday afternoon with friends and family and Beres Hammond crooning in the background

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the 25,000 to create my dream of opening a quaint eatery replicating my childhood home that holds some many sweet memories of our Jamaican heritage, family, friends and the delicious food that brought so many people together. During the day it would feel like a cozy cafe with books that hold a Caribbean essence, serving Caribbean pastries and breakfast drinks during the day and traditional dishes with a modern twist at night.
