My mother, Olga Lomas, taught me the basics of cooking as soon as my head was above the kitchen counter! I adored how my father would literally lick clean every plate she made him, and that’s what started my passion for cooking and baking. I want to see the same look of delight and satisfaction on whomever I serve.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?My favorite dish to make would have be Enchiladas Verdes and Arroz con Azafrán (saffron rice). It is the most requested dish in my household, and it reminds of my childhood every time I make it. I can change the spice level from mild to “you better grab a glass of milk,” depending how daring my fiancé feels that day!
What would you do with the $25,000?The cash reward would go towards finishing my culinary degree which I’m currently enrolled in. Whatever is leftover will be put towards any medical expenses for my father who is awaiting a kidney transplant. He is currently on the waitlist, but I want to help my greatest supporters in any way I can.
