Receive Text UpdatesIt all started in 2002 in Petaluma, California, at my uncle Alfredo’s house. I watched in awe as he cracked eggs with one hand—it was the coolest thing! That moment sparked my love for cooking. As I grew older, I became captivated by chefs on the Food Network, watching them turn simple ingredients into masterpieces. Their passion and creativity inspired me even more to become a cook, setting me on a path that would shape my future.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?My favorite dish to cook is my Halibut Fish Sandwich, inspired by Southern and Japanese flavors. I dredge the halibut in buttermilk and my seasoned flour, then fry it to perfection. A squeeze of lemon, sweet soy, and charred scallion relish add depth. I butter and toast a brioche bun, spread togarashi aioli, and layer crisp romaine and heirloom tomato before building the sandwich. It’s a perfect balance of crunch, zest, and umami.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d use the money to further my education, pursuing a degree in business management with a focus on the winery business. This will bring me closer to my goal of becoming a food and beverage director, equipping me with the skills to lead in the industry.
