Food is my love language. Bringing joy and expressing love through the food I make is how I communicate to others that I care. I want to share ingredients and dishes I have sampled on my travels, and bring my loved ones on a journey with me, even if we are just sitting at the kitchen table. We have to eat to live. So, let’s love the food we eat and live the best life possible.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?Roasting a whole duck has become my latest obsession. The magical deliciousness of that crispy skin after a dry brine, rotisseried over par boiled potatoes that crisp in the dripping duck fat….I mean….! Crispy skin duck and fat roasted potatoes are my favorite food group on the now defunct food pyramid. It’s science.
What would you do with the $25,000?This prize would allow me to travel and experience new world cuisine first hand. The act of trying new foods in their authentic environments is unmatched and is integral to attempting to recaptureand evoke the same flavors in the home kitchen. Travel is essential to broadening one’s personal horizons as well as one’s palete. Reimagining a key experience in food, from a past adventure, is as close to time and instant travel as possible.
