I'm inspired by Samin, Ina and Julia. But I'm also very inspired by people like Phil Rosenthal of Somebody Feed Phil, who shows me food around the world I've not seen, but NEED to make. I am especially inspired, however, by everyday culturally diverse home cooks who are the backbone and center of all truly incredible food.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?Finnish Salmon Soup - Lohikeitto. I wrote my own recipe for Finland's traditional dish. Changing the salmon prep made it incredibly versatile to serve to a crowd with ease. In doing so, it also checks all the Vegetarian & Pescatarian boxes. With swaps, Vegan, yet still serve everyone at the table. The secret is in the cooking & plating. It's the perfect outdoor 'Big Gathering Celebration' with toasty French bread & spread, a big salad & Marshmallow Rice Treats for dessert.
What would you do with the $25,000?I've cooked professionally since age 11. I've headed 3 companies & worked at simple to high society places, turning menus into craveable best sellers. But my passion is my work with "The Healing Diet' - working with people individually to heal the worst wounds in 10 days that doctors give no hope of healing in 10 mo. The money goes to my 25 year non-profit. Being rebuilt, but static at BreastHealthOnline.org, we work with all people, all surgeries, all over the world for free.
