Receive Text UpdatesMy friend Selma was the one who inspired me to learn how to cook. We were in college and I was missing the food we were used to. Selma one day she just went to Walmart and bought some chicken and rice and some beans and made us a home cooked meal. The meal meant so much to me. I also got to learn about her Honduran roots which were not so much different from my Dominican roots. We shared stories while sharing a meal together. I learned that day that through food you can bring joy.

What would you do with the $25,000?I am currently working on starting my own meal prep business with healthy Caribbean food. The money will help me be able to rent a space to make this a reality. My dream is to be able to buy my parents a home. They have done so much for me and my brothers and I would love to make their American dream come true.
