My family & friends inspire me to cook. All the cooking shows I grew up watching & continue to watch inspire me to cook. Being Filipino, food is a significant part of our culture & I was taught from a young age how to feed myself & create these delicious meals. Food brings people together. It is such a simple joy in life to sit with your loved ones & enjoy a really good meal. Watching all these cooking competitions on TV only inspires me more to never stop learning either
What's your all time favorite dish to make?I’m a simple human! I have a huge love for fresh flavors and seafood, so homemade poké bowls are where it’s at. Ahi tuna, avocado, pickled ginger, cucumber salad, corn, radish, carrot, edamame, toppings galore! The possibilities are endless. But also, a really juicy ribeye and chimichurri never fails, either.
What would you do with the $25,000?$25k would be monumental for me. Not only would it help me pay off student debt from culinary school and the other colleges I’ve attended, but it would allow me to be able to move to a larger city and transform my culinary career somewhere with more room to grow and more opportunities. I could pay off my debt, afford to move, & live life with significantly less financial stress. I wouldn’t be so focused on budgeting every paycheck & could spend more time doing what I love.
