Who or what inspires you to cook?

My grandmother. She taught me everything I know about cooking, every time I would go to her house we would cook or bake something. She was a guru, a loose measurer, and an always taste tester. She showed me the beauty of layering flavors, and the importance of consistency when it’s a dish that reaches the hearts of loved ones. Food has a soul, and every time I cook, I think of her and our time together in the kitchen. She is very much the reason I love cooking.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

Chicken noodle soup, especially with matzoh balls. There is something about a bowl of chicken noodle soup that is just the epitome of comfort. It’s warming, filling, and takes me back to my childhood cooking with my Grandmother. She taught me to prep a whole chicken, peel chop and cook the vegetables, and to just let it simmer and build. She even gave me her secret ingredient.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I always have said if I were to ever win a significant amount of money, that it would go to my parents first. They gave me a wonderful childhood, and helped me through difficult times in my life. They have never asked for anything in return, and I would love to help them feel less stress about aging or bills, and treat them. They deserve it. Next would be my MIL who has been wonderful, and then money for our son’s future. Whatever is left, maybe some new pots and pans :)
