Who or what inspires you to cook?

Julia Child; beautiful produce; the desire to experience different cuisines and cultures through food; & wanting to continually challenge myself with learning new techniques & skills. Also, I have a passion for cooking like nothing else. It is endlessly fascinating to me. If I can't get to a 5-star restaurant, I want to learn how to recreate their dishes myself! Finally, it makes me so happy when people enjoy what I feed them.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

So hard! There is a Slavic dish that is a yeasted cabbage and bacon pie. It's so delicious! And I love making other savory pastries and sweet pies and cream pies! Hmm. I think my answer is...pie. But geez, I love a great Boeuf Bourguignon, too!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would open a pastry shop/Pâtisserie or tea room where people can eat sweets and savories in the European tradition. I want to create a place where people can slow down, savor, and treat themselves to something made from the highest-quality ingredients. Basically, I want to inject a little love and daily indulgence into people's lives.
