Receive Text UpdatesBy far, my greatest inspiration has to be my grandmother. She was the first person to teach me to bake and it was our favourite activity to do together. I grew up living with her, which meant I got to be in the kitchen often as a child. Betty, my grandmother, unfortunately passed away when I was 16. I missed being in the kitchen with her so much, I realized it had become a passion. It was then I enrolled in culinary school and with her final gift, I used money left to me to pay for school.
What's your all time favorite dish to make?French Macarons. They are delicate, sweet, sophisticated, light, soft yet slightly chewy, and brings joy to those who enjoy them. They are also quite difficult to make. They take practice, patiences, time, and following the recipe exactly. You can make them any flavour or colour, allowing creativity in precision. They take your full attention and reward you with a delicate sweet treat like no other. Did I mention I love making macarons?
What would you do with the $25,000?Two years ago, at 35, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. During my treatment I received 41 round of treatments and 3 surgeries. Owning my own business meant I needed to close the retail shop I had spent years building to change plans. I opened up a small commercial kitchen small businesses could rent daily while starting out without the overhead. I would love to update the used equipment I currently have in there with new and commercial items. $25,000 would help us help so many others.
