Who or what inspires you to cook?

My mother who passed in 2023. Instilled culinary excellence in me since 6yo. I grew up assisting her in our home based catering business. She then assisted me in opening my current and past businesses. I then shared those same experiences with my two sons, one of which is excelling in the kitchen at 16yrs old. To this day I still carry those childhood experiences with me each day in the kitchen, continuing her legacy and dedication to delicious cuisine while bringing people together.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

I love preparing dishes for guests at my restaurant but most of all a big bowl of pasta, fresh made sauce and meatballs for the family on a Sunday afternoon, is my favorite of all. Those moments, Sundays around the dining room table brought me to open my restaurant so those in my community can share those moments as well.

What would you do with the $25,000?

First and foremost the cash prize would greatly help alleviate some debt from opening my restaurant. I recently partnered with a local police officer to conduct a cooking class for his troubled youth group within our community. A portion of this money will be useful in providing resources to see these youth continue to be supported. I also would like to give back to a local cancer patient support organization which assisted my mother by providing her quality meals and medical support.
