Who or what inspires you to cook?

I am inspired by the sense of community that comes from nourishing the people who mean so much to me. I love seeing how a dish can trigger emotions and conversations. It’s beautiful to see a different side of people by making a dish that is important to me and seeing how that can bring memories out of others.

What's your all time favorite dish to make?

My favorite recipe is my own take on a childhood favorite my mom used to make for me. It’s a baked carrot rice with cheese and slow roasted lemon chicken. It brings me nostalgia, love, and childlike joy to create the dish that solidified a love for cooking in my life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Recently I have made some big changes in life, buying a home after moving across the country. I would put some of the money to pay my mortgage and save a little to continue my passion for tasting what the world has to offer and bringing some of what I find home to my own garden.
