How long have you been cooking?

Started cooking when I was maybe 6. My dad (a chef at the time) took me to work with him on an off-day; I thought it was the coolest place I’d ever seen. My mom (not trained, but better than most chefs) cooked with me most days of my early life. When I was 19, I got a job in a large restaurant as a grill cook. At 24, I opened a cafe. I had the opportunity to cook for Marco and Mario Andretti, Ice T, and countless entertainers. I sold the café in 2018. Now I am a rogue home cook.

What is your signature dish?

Soups - all soups. Am I the King of soups? No, Jacques Pepin is the King of soups. I am the Daddy of soups. Non-soup signature dish(es): Sausage and Peppers over pasta - OR - Clams with white wine and lemon.

What will you do with the $50,000?

All kinds of cool stuff - launch a fun & easy online cooking program for everyone who has had home-cooking thrust upon them since quarantine began. I’d also rent a kitchen to make soups and sauces that I can ship across the country - part of every sale going towards feeding hungry kids. Or maybe I’ll just open a kitchen that serves free food to people in need. It’s hard to say, you know? And let’s be honest, I’ll probably take $200 and buy some comic books.
