I want to share the concept of Lifestyle Cooking. Helping others see how easy it is to be a Home Chef, using EVERYDAY ingredients!
I have been cooking as long I can remember! As a Kid, I used to help my Mom with dinner by making Crockpot Meals before school to save her time when she got home from work. When we got our first computer I made a cookbook in a three ring binder and continue to replicate meals from those original recipes.
Whatever you have on hand, in your fridge or cupboards that's where we start. We made need a few supplemental ingredients BUT I believe my Signature Dish is one that's curated from repurposed leftovers, ingredients we buy regularly and may also be throwing out at the end of the week and those spices we buy for that one recipe, and never seem to use again!
My hometown, Erie Pennsylvania is working to eliminate Food Deserts within the Community. An initiative started by the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 5 gardens and an Urban Farm are maintained within the Little Italy Community. Local Teenagers are hired each spring to plant, harvest, then sell the produce at the Farmers Market. I would donate the $20,000 to support the growth and awareness of this program.
