How long have you been cooking?

I have been cooking since a young child with my mother and grandmother. They are the ones who made me who I am. I have cooked for over 32 years working from private dining, hotels, country clubs and for my own catering company. Currently I am working as a chef for a major food distribution center helping customers with their business needs. This allows me to be able to do what I love. Everyday is a different dish, different atmosphere from hispanic, american, healthcare, to private owned .

What is your signature dish?

My signature dish is a Double Chocolate Caramel Tort. Two layers of rich bittersweet chocolate cake stuffed with a caramel filling, topped with chocolate ganache. Served with fresh whip cream, fresh raspberries, and caramel popcorn topped with a chocolate curls

What will you do with the $50,000?

I will use it for a group called While We're Waiting. This is a group that gives support to parents who have lost children for different reasons. We do a dinner for them on the final night with 5 courses to give them something they wouldn't normally get. It's a different meal each time never repeating them. It touches so many to help take their minds off of their losses. This organization is all donation supported and does not charge anything for its services.
