Three years ago I started my BBQ rub business Dr. Dor’s BBQ. I work in the medical field and have a passion for cooking.
I’ve been cooking since age 12. Both my parents worked full time so my Mom would leave frozen food out in the morning and my twin sister and I would create meals for our family of 6.
My signature dish is BBQ! I have over 30 smokers and grills and have been an avid griller for over 25 years. In 2018 I launched a line of BBQ rubs and seasonings called Dr. Dor’s BBQ. I have won awards for my rubs, brisket and chicken. I also enjoy home cooking and can create many dishes that leave people absolutely drooling! Some of my favorite dishes are Italian specialties, good old American comfort foods, colorful and delicious salads and of course Bbq! Thank you for the opportunity!
With $20,000 I would help grow my BBQ rub business as well as help families experiencing food insecurity due to the Covid pandemic with the help of my nonprofit Roselle 24/7. During the 1st wave of the pandemic in 2020 I teamed with local restaurants and donors to help provide meals to the front line workers at Trinitas Regional Medical Center where I work as a Radiation Therapist. Dr. Dor’s BBQ is the prescription for great food and community involvement!
